Within the past year, the city has found resources to build a $10 million football training camp, commit $100,000 for a proposed “bike boulevard” in the hope of garnering a $400,000 government grant for the $500,000 project, and is planning a $2.5 million walkway across the James River. The city also is seriously considering a new $80 million ballpark to be augmented by another $120 million in private funds.
Why can’t the city, a corporate sponsor, individuals from the private sector, or a combination of sources provide the funds to continue Harold Warner’s work to renovate the world-renowned Landmark Theater organ? Link
